With a fresh start of every year, so many people gather organization materials in order to prepare themselves for the year ahead. I am no exception. Last year, I had strong intentions for creating a bullet journal and keeping up with it, and for many reasons, which I’ll list out later in this blog post – it didn’t happen for the full year. So here I am again, another fresh start to a new year with my full January 2023 bullet journal set up.
For January set ups, I love creating pages that have a metallic finish on them. To me, it says happy new year, reflecting and its really motiviating to use a new, pretty, gilded journal. This set up is comprised of a ticket border, a large moon shape I cut out with my cricut, this gold pen and this set of tombow markers I used throughout the journal.
I have to be honest, for my January bujo set up, I should have done a month-at-a-glance page, but I only did this main calendar which I use for meal planning for my family. On the side there is a grocery list. For my weekly to-do’s I use the weekly spreads.
For the weekly spread, I like to try out different layouts.
The first week, I used a 8 grid layout.
The second and third week, I used a smaller layout. This was mainly so I wouldn’t have to draw an extra page.
The fourth week and last 3 days of the month, I did skinnier lists. These are 10 dots across with a space in the middle. I’m using a B5 Archer & Olive journal.
I found that using a social media tracker really helps me. I actually like keeping track of my growth. This helped me to see how I grew on YouTube. Sometimes I grow steady and slowly over on Instagram and don’t even realize that I’ve gained 5 new followers or 50 new followers! So keeping tracking is a positive thing and helps me realize that I am connecting with new people all the time.
I generally keep this four-grid tracker for every month. It works for me. I did begin to include tik-tok and my newsletter count for this year. Prior to January 2023, I used those spaces for notes or shopping lists. It just makes more sense this way. What do you like keeping track of?
Last year I swore that I would be creating a bunch of bullet journal videos and blog post but it just didn’t happen.
There was a lot of caveats that prevented me from getting things done. Although I did do bullet journaling in the year 2022 off and on, I do intend on doing more bujo for real and sharing my creations with you in this new year of 2023.
Now, I have a Dreambox where I can hold all of my pens notebooks materials, basically anything that I need I to do my creative projects. This has now become my office and crafting space all in one.
What are theme are you going with in your bullet journal this month?
