I’ve been wanting to organize my small pantry for a few months. Recently, it has gotten out of control! Pantry organization is something that I’m passionate about because it makes navigating through the kitchen that much easier.

I created this small pantry organization and makeover video that features the step by step guide to walk you through how to organize your pantry. I’m showing you how I organized my small pantry, but you can use this idea for a pantry of any size. This is my small pantry organization idea from my home to yours.

Realistic small pantry organization

After searching online for pantry organization ideas and only seeing large pantries, I figured I’d share this realistic pantry organization idea that I just created and currently using in my home.

How to Organize A Small Pantry

Empty everything out

In order to get organized, you have to see what you have. Pull everything out from the pantry and even cabinets that may house items you really want in your pantry. So if you want all canned goods in the pantry now, grab them from the kitchen cabinets and place them in one location. I put everything on my dining room table. I also painted the inside of the pantry white so that it can look brighter. This is how it looks once the pantry was emptied out and painted.

Sort and purge

Sort like items together to see how much you have one one thing. I actually did this method for my bathroom cabinet organization. I also tossed anything I that expired.

Use Glass containers for Small Pantry Organization

For food items that always come with a large quantity like flour and oats, I swear by these Glass Ball Decorative containers. I purchased these a long while ago and they still come in handy! They are durable and adds special look to the pantry all the while being functional.

Use Baskets for Small Pantry Organization

I used these metal baskets to store bread and some snacks. Having the snacks go in one location helps the pantry to stay neat and organized. I already had these so I used what I had. There are other wicker baskets or plastic containers that you can use to keep your pantry organized as well.

Use Clear Containers for Small Pantry Organization

One of the things I LOVE is clear containers in the pantry. I also love using glass in the pantry as well. I think it helps to see what you have, it makes everything nice and neat and leaves the pantry feeling oh-so-organized and refreshed. These containers helped me to consolidate pantry essentials like sugar, flour, pasta and much more. Instead of having each item in the original packaging it comes in, pouring them into slim containers for this small pantry helped to make it feel like it has more space.

How to store Canned Goods in a small pantry

One of my favorite parts about this pantry makeover is organizing the canned goods! This adjustable shelf came in handy! It acts a step so you can see what you have! Its one of the best things I added to this pantry. You can buy it here.

Pantry Labels

Labeling everything makes life easier. The clear containers come with labels, but if you prefer labels with pre-written text, these pre-made labels can work.
