This past weekend I went to the Made in America music festival in Philly. The two day festival was really fun and gave me and my partner in crime a chance to eat some Philly cheesesteaks amongst other good food. First, I love that the festival is in the Olde City of Philadelphia. Located at Benjamin Franklin Parkway, it is a great location with nearby restaurants, historical monuments and museums. The festival was not my idea at all, so I have to give all the credit to Derrell, owner of Foster Ambitions Photography, my husband, personal photographer and trip planner. 🙂 If it was up to me, I probably would have been a home-body and missed out on all the great performances by Cardi B, Run the Jewels, Pusha T, J. Cole, Solange, The Chainsmokers, Jay-Z and many more.
I did not pack for this two-day trip until the morning we were hitting the road and honestly I had no idea what to wear to this outdoor festival. The weather was indecisive all week, flip flopping between rain showers and sunny days, before settling on raining all Saturday night. To be on the safe side, I decided to dress in something super comfortable that I knew I would be cute and comfy in the rain, chilly weather and standing for a while.
See it started drizzle!

I settled on my old faithful jean shorts that I’ve had for a looonnnggg time. I actually picked these Abercrombie & Fitch shorts from the flea market, probably six years ago and they’ve been my go-to jean shorts ever since. I paired it with my also long-time favorite Givenchy hosiery that I picked up on discount at a department store, a Zara raincoat because it would be raining, a sweatshirt that I picked up in Sorrento, Italy; Lucky Brand combat boots from Marshall’s. I wore these old boots because I knew they would get messed up from the rain and mud. If you’re ever going to an outdoor festival with rain in the forecast, WEAR RAINBOOTS! The ground was SOOOO muddy, it was gross. I have a pair of Hunter rainboots that I stupidly left home. My boots were DONE after day one, but with some good ol’ boot cleaner and a cloth I was able to wipe them down and make them decent enough to wear them again for Day 2 of the Festival.
