Finally my kitchen floors got a makeover with these click-lock engineered hardwood floors!
When we first moved into this house, one of things I loved about it was the kitchen and the narrow dining room area. The floors were one of the things I hated, but knew I could deal with them until I was ready to change them. The image below is a faux tile vinyl material. I discussed these floors in this bathroom makeover and this bathroom video. It’s the same material that was in both rooms, same color and they all had to go!
The beauty about the floors that I chose is they’re perfect to float on top of these faux tile vinyl floors. That’s right, you don’t have to lift the vinyl up, the floors get laid right on top! Another perk is that these floors did not require any underlayment which helped to keep cost down!
Installing click-lock hardwood floors are actually easy. There was a small learning curve for the first row, but after the first row, everything went so smooth. I discuss all the details in this video including my own mistakes and how to fix them along with other tricks I had to do in order to make things work for the greater good of the entire space.
I’m taking you through the steps of how to pick out kitchen floors, how to remove the trim, how to install these click-lock floors and what tools you’ll need. This floor installation was easy enough especially for my first time installing floors.
I go over everything in this YouTube video.
I love that these floors have different patterns that adds to the balance of the kitchen and dining room. My kitchen is almost all white. I still have to do the countertops, island and maybe a pantry to the side since my main pantry is entirely too small. So make sure you subscribe to my newsletter down below and also my YouTube channel to keep up with my diy journey and hopefully it inspires you to take on your own diy projects in the future.
