Back in April of 2020, I did a social media detox and found things that I love to do and what’s true to me. That’s when I found bullet journaling. I started searching for something on Pinterest, it’s been so long now that I don’t really remember what I was searching for, but I stumbled on bullet journaling. Since then I’ve been hooked. I love the creativity and the uniqueness of each person’s style. Bullet journaling helps with so many different things such as mental health, anxiety and being overall creative. With the combination of social media detox and starting my bullet journaling, I got so inspired by other things and began sketching out other things in my life, like this bathroom makeover for under $300. I know, it sounds kind of funny that something so simple can spark this type of creativity, but it does. I’m excited to start sharing this kind of content with you. Here is my January 2022 bullet journal setup.
In this month’s bullet journal, I decided to go with a mirror theme. Originally my inspiration for this was venetian mirrors, but as I sketched out my designs all sorts or intricate mirrors came to mind.

This January cover page was inspired by home decor and mirrors. Originally the idea was venetian mirrors, but I could not help but draw a gallery wall of mirrors so the spread turned into that.
I outlined the calendar spread with black lines. I used a Zig vellum writer for this because it doesn’t smudge. I also used this tiny ruler to help keep my lines straight.
For the decorative elements, I kept it simple with just two mirrors – one to the left and one at bottom of the page. I used the color N95, from the Tombow Greyscale set to color in the two mirror and finishing up the spread with small stars and leafy lines to make it more decorative.
To number the dates on the calendar, I used the black brush pen and the metallic gold pen from this acrylograph set to write the numbers on top. It gave it a little contrast. Finally, I decided to outline the title with the gold pen as well.
I know a lot of bullet journalists use mood trackers and habit trackers, but those never worked for me. I do like to keep track of my YouTube growth and my Instagram growth. I also use this area for small random notes or any last minute shopping items I need.
The playlist area is one of my favorite spreads in bullet journals because it like a time capsule where you can look back and see what you were listening to at a certain place in time.
Week one’s spread was one of my favorites to draw because of the repetitive pattern. I was going for a really elegant Louis the 15th or Versailles Gardens Hall of Mirrors kind of vibe. That’s why I used gold for this spread.
For week two I wanted to keep up with the same format, using an easy layout. I liked the repetitive pattern.
For week three and four, I created a symmetrical spread. This is one of those tricks that helps me to bullet journal a little easier. Rather than have really intricate designs on every single page, I simplify two spreads. For this one, I added little details in the mirrors.
I like to keep the entire month together, so the last two days of the month ended up on a separate page. I ended this month with a set of twin mirrors resembling some of the venetian mirrors that was originally the whole inspiration behind my January 2022 bullet journal set up.
For me, not having a mood tracker or habit tracker makes the bullet journal easier to have. One of the best things about having a bullet journal is the creativity aspect. I love drawing out spreads, but too many can be overwhelming. After having bullet journaled since April 2020, I realized what items in my own custom journal works for me and which items don’t. This is just me sharing my January 2022 bullet journal setup and I hope you liked it!
