This blog post is about to be a really quick explanation of Why Leopard is Always a Good Idea.
This sweater is one of my oldies. It was folded, tucked away neatly, at the very bottom of my closet in a bin, way down beneath all my other sweaters. Under all my new ones, thrifted ones and vintage goodies. Lucky for me, it reappeared one day! I thought maybe I had given it away. I didn’t though! Yay meeee!
I purchased this Leopard print cardigan many moons ago from New York & Company. I still was in college when I first popped the tags off this cozy knit and I’ve been out of college for about 10 years. Even back then, I had a thing for leopard. I vividly remember wearing this to my macroeconomics class and someone commented, “Hey, you look like a Snow Leopard.” To the long lost commenter, thanks. 🙂
The leopard style simply never really goes out of style. It’s always been a classic, especially in my book. It’s always been a second to the color black. I love wearing leopard shoes with another prints like stripes or plaid. It really is a quintessential print that just doesn’t fade in character or boldness. You can pair it with pretty much anything, leopard shirt with sneakers, leopard sneakers with a solid sweater, solid sweater with leopard jeans and the links just goes on and on. I’m wearing my leopard cardigan with my Lucky Brand combat boots. The fact that this sweater is very old and still looks good speaks volumes to how leopard is always a good idea.
